Kingston, NH – AX Hydroplane (Novice) Class favorite David Woodle of Groton MA, lived up to the preseason expectations as he successfully defended his AX (Novice) hydroplane titles with a third place (Saturday) and second place (Sunday) finish at the 11th annual Kingston Fall Classic in Kingston, NH.

In the Junior Hydroplane Class, BUBBA burger driver, Eden Deware of Easton, MA picked up her first BUBBA Burger Hydroplane Series Championship in style with a clean sweep of the weekend winning on both Saturday and Sunday.

Chilly temperatures, lots of wind, and choppy water were in sharp contrast to last year’s Kingston Fall Classic where the thermometer hit eighty-five-degree temperatures with no wind and a smooth lake surface. The conditions seemed to suit the fifteen-year-old Woddle the best as he appeared to dominate the AX Class field in both days of racing. But starting infractions cost Woodle wins as Eli Campbell of NH took Saturdays win followed by Jack Lyons of NH and then Woodle in third after a penalty. On Sunday it was more of the same but this time both Woodle and Campbell jumped the start and were penalized handing the win to Eden Deware. Woodle still managed to get second with Matt Mead of Long Island, NY finishing third.

With five wins in 2018 Woddle clinched his third BUBBA burger Series AX Class Championship. Eli Campbell scored one win with five second place finishes to secure second place in the final standings. Eden Deware, on the heels of her Sunday win, edged out her cousin, Jack Lyons for the final podium spot in third place.

In the Junior Class, 2018 became the Eden and Quin show as the two raced hard throughout the year with Deware scoring six wins to beat out Quin Roberts of NH (two wins and five seconds) for the title. Third place went to Jack Lyons.

The next event on the calendar will be the South Shore Outboard Association banquet on November 10th when the drivers will officially be awarded their trophies and titles.
